Business World ’20 under 40’: Ayesha Bedwei

Ayesha Bedwei made it on to the list of 20 of Ghana’s most influential business leaders under the age of 40.

As Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana, with a current industry specialisation in Energy and Mining, Ayesha has organised a number of tax and regulatory focused forums in this area covering several African territories. To date, these forums have been held in Ghana, the USA and Mozambique with audiences typically made up of representatives of key players in the energy industry from a number of countries. Ayesha received her undergraduate degree in Business Economics and also obtained fellowship with the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACCA).

With over 14 years’ experience in the finance and accounting field and holding positions ranging from Audit Senior, Finance Manager and more recently Tax Director, Ayesha has worked both in the United Kingdom and in Ghana, where she’s been over the past seven years. Her current role involves the provision of tax advisory and tax compliance services to various clients worldwide. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana (ICAG) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation Ghana (CITG).

Ayesha’s other roles in PwC is as coordinator for PwC Ghana’s oil and gas industry group which seeks to share industry information within the firm and with clients, and also develop best practice through open dialogue and thought leadership publications. Outside of PwC, she serves as a Corporate Membership Director for the Ghana Oil Club, a non-profit friendly organisation for the energy industry in Ghana.
