Chinese company to establish wind-farms in Ghana

wind_farmShenzhen Energy Group of China, which is involved in developing all types of energies, is expected to establish, finance and develop the first wind-farm project in Ghana.

After assessing the wind-power potential of three sites, which is capable of providing about 50megawatts of power each, the group is undertaking further possibilities for starting wind farms in the country.

The company however expressed concern over the difficulty in acquiring lands and pleaded with authorities to facilitate their attempts of acquisition.

“The difficulty at this time is that the land for the wind farm has not been settled yet due to unclear policy and regulation of the Ghana government. We wonder whether it is convenient to acquire the land from the owners themselves

We hope the Ghanaian government can support us in acquiring or renting the land so that we can initiate construction of the wind farms as soon as possible”

The project is expected to be completed by the end of the first half of the year.
