Dangote cement commences project to address cement shortage

Dangote-Cement-Jobs-in-NigeriaDangote Cement Ghana Limited has begun a $35million expansion project which will help ease the shortage of cement in the country.

Tema and Takoradi are the selected sites for the project.

Tema’s project has already begun while the Takoradi project is at the foundation level. Completion dates for both are in three and fourteen months respectively.

When completed, the company says its annual production will be increased to about three million tonnes.

The expansion of Dangote plant in Ghana comes in the wake of rising cement prices, which is currently selling at GH¢32 for a bag in Accra and GH¢35 in other regions of the country.

This is attributed to the falling cedi and rising input cost.
