Dubai Expo 2020: Ghana Will Rake In Massive Foreign Investments- Minister

Ghana is expected to attract more foreign direct investment into critical sectors of the economy, as it prepares to participate in the Dubia Expo 2020.

The Dubai Expo gives countries the opportunity to establish and strengthen existing political and socio-economic ties among participating countries.

Speaking at the launch of the expo in Accra on Tuesday, 31 August 2018, Deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Carlos Ahenkorah said the expo would enable Ghana explore and showcase its potential investment opportunities to other participating countries for sustainable economic growth and job creation.

He said: “Expo 2020 is just one of the five-year routine expos that are done. This time, it’s Dubai. Next time, it’s going to be somewhere else. We all know the opportunities Dubai brings. It’s a converging point for businesses and 150 countries are going to be present at this expo.

“It does not mean we’re going to have only people from 150 countries visiting, we’re going to have people from all over the world, even some countries who are not representing will have their businessmen coming in there, so, it tells you that it is a point where people who are looking for investment for their countries will have to converge and get these businesses out, and I can say for sure that with the kind of openings that we have here in Ghana and the opportunities that we have leveraged across, I’m optimistic that we’re going to bring in large investments come 2020 in October.”
