Dunlop opens outlet at Teshie

Dunlop has opened a new outlet at Teshie in Accra as part of efforts to add to its footprint in Ghana.

Marking the fourth Dunlop-branded store since the initial one was launched in April of 2013, the Teshie outlet is well positioned to allow for convenient reach to consumers.The stores are backed by the experienced tyre fitment owners and investors, Rana Motors, who have more than 40 years of experience in the dynamic tyre market.Teshie, ranked as Ghana’s ninth most populated settlement, holds high potential for demand.Significant demand projections are anticipated in the passenger car, SUV and 4×4 classes of vehicle. Demand for light truck tyres is also expected to be on the uptick.

According to the Rana Motors General Manager, Mr Vinay Kapoor, the group had a vision to expand the retail network of tyre service outlets to have better reach across the region.

“Our aim is to provide quality product, services and professional consultation under one roof. Through our obsession with quality and expertise in retail, we can better ensure the safety of people in Ghana and West Africa,” said Mr Kapoor.

The group cites a strong brand presence and the expertise of fitment staff as their key differentiators. “The visual impact of Dunlop is immense and we believe the strength of this global icon gives consumers greater peace of mind. We also believe that the training afforded to our staff on the latest tyre and fitment technology is key to our success and is what sets us apart,” emphasised Mr Kapoor.

Dunlop in Ghana is distributed through Sumitomo Rubber – a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan-based listed company and sixth largest producer of tyres globally, Sumitomo Rubber Industries (Pty) Ltd.

Riaz Haffejee, CEO of Sumitomo Rubber, expressed his satisfaction with the growth of the Dunlop Zone brand in Ghana as a result of their distribution partnership with Rana Motors.
