First National Bank rebrands; now GN Bank

Wholly owned Ghanaian financial institution, First National Bank has changed its name to “GN Bank” in a colourful ceremony held at Takoradi in the Western region.

The colours of the bank have thus been changed from the usual blue and white to brown; illustrating life, enthusiasm and energy as well as gold, representing wealth.

Launching the bank, Omanhene of Essikado appealed to the founders to avoid straying from the vision and mission of supporting economic growth.
The Western regional minister also urged the managers of the institution to ease up on their products and services in order to make accessing loans easy for small scale businesses.
The Bank has a seven-member board of Directors (BOD) with Mr Charles Cofie as the Chairman and Dr Papa Kwesi Ndoum, the 2012 Progressive Peoples Party presidential candidate and his wife Yvonne among the board members.

There is also a four-member executive team which has Mr Patrick Anumel as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The bank started as a savings and loans institution with only five National Service Personnel but in less than ten years, it has grown in leaps and bounds with over 130 branches in remote parts of the country.
