GCB/RIA Direct To Account Money Transfer Takes Off

GCB Bank has begun offering direct transfer of RIA International Money Transfer to beneficiaries’ account.

Dubbed RIA Direct to Account (RIA – DTA), the service makes it possible for funds to be transferred into a GCB Bank account seamlessly within 10 minutes, without any human intervention.

GCB/Ria Money transfer business was launched on 6th October 2015, offering in-branch or over-the-counter services only, following a partnership agreement between the bank and Ria International Money Transfer.

The DTA is an innovative initiative aimed at offering convenience to GCB customers 24/7. This gives the bank the needed competitive edge within the money transfer market.

With this service, GCB customers registered on the bank’s mobile banking platform will receive instant credit alert and may use any of the bank’s e-channels to withdraw or make payment conveniently.

Commenting on the new initiative, the Managing Director of GCB Bank, Mr Anselm Ray Sowah, stated that GCB Bank has the largest branch and ATM network in Ghana and also boasts of the most robust IT systems coupled with an array of alternate channels in Ghana because it plays a strategic national development function and always works at ensuring that Ghanaians conveniently have access to banking services wherever they find themselves.

“We believe that remittance is about connecting families, building relationships, sharing love, helping to realise dreams and delivering hope to millions of people around the world and this innovation aims at making it faster and convenient for GCB account holders in very remote locations,” he added.

GCB Bank is Ghana’s largest indigenous bank with over 180 branches and 300 plus ATMs nationwide. In 2017, the bank was awarded the Best Money Transfer Bank in Ghana and the Safest Bank in Ghana by RIA.

The bank has also been awarded the Most Compliant Bank in Ghana by the Association of Certified Compliance Professionals Africa (ACCPA) for 2018.
