Ghana Entrepreneur and Business Support Awards come off April 29

 

The sixth EFG-Ghana Entrepreneur Awards (GEA) and Entrepreneur’s Business Support Awards Dinner takes place on Friday, April 29 on the theme ‘The Role of Entrepreneurship in Economic Growth and Private Sector Development’.

The event, which is an initiative of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG), is being organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Six Ghanaian entrepreneurs will be inducted into the prestigious ‘Ghana Entrepreneur Awards Hall of Fame’, while another twenty entrepreneurs will be selected for awards as Overall Best Entrepreneur of the Year 2015, Lifetime Entrepreneur Achievement, Group CEO of the Year, Woman Entrepreneur and Young Entrepreneur.

Others are: Outstanding Entrepreneur in Banking and Finance, Electricals and Electronics, Health and Herbal industry, General Merchants, Food and Beverages, Electronic Commerce, Information Technology, Event Management, Rubber and Plastics, Construction and Building Materials, Textiles and Garments, Hospitality and Tourism.

The event seeks to recognise and honour outstanding Ghanaian and non-Ghanaian permanent resident entrepreneurs, and to serve as a motivation for budding Ghanaian entrepreneurs in small, medium and large enterprises to sustain economic growth and generat employment.

The awards honour entrepreneurs that have achieved strategic and sustained positive impacts on the economy, community and society as a whole.

This award will be presented to an entrepreneur who has the passion for business, possesses proven business performance, and has the ability to think strategically for the business’ long-term sustainability.

Criteria used by the judges to select the Ghana Entrepreneur Award winner include entrepreneurial spirit, business performance and growth, vision and innovation, ethics and personal integrity, strategic thinking and corporate social responsibility, and involvement in Ghana’s economic growth.

The Entrepreneur’s Business Support Awards will also recognise and celebrate organisations that deliver quality products and services to assist entrepreneurs in small, medium and large businesses to maximise their potential.

Entrepreneurs Foundation believes providing excellence awards in business support is pivotal to enhancing business excellence in Ghana.

The Entrepreneur’s Business Support Award Categories are: Entrepreneur’s Business Support Banking and Non-Banking Institutions of the Year, Petroleum, Health and Medical Service Organisations of the Year for their exceptional contribution to development of the private sector in creating economic and social values.

The business support awards category was based on opinion polls of nominated entrepreneurs for the Ghana Entrepreneur Awards as preferred Business Support Products and Services of the Year award, 2015
