A 20-member delegation from Ghana is taking part in the 2016 edition of Centralia, a global business forum, from May 25 to 27, 2016, in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.
The delegation from Ghana will be led by the Chairman of the World Trade Centre (WTC), Accra, Togbe Afede XIV, and would be looking at exploring opportunities in Finance, Oil, Gas & Mining, and the construction and infrastructure sectors.
At a pre-departure briefing, the Managing Director of the World Trade Centre, Accra, Mr Emmanuel Doni-Kwame, said the 4th edition of Centralia was an excellent opportunity to open new doors to trade for companies in the Ghanaian market.
He said Centralia had been designed specifically for businesses seeking new opportunities and would bring together over 700 business leaders from more than 30 countries.
“The 3-day event has been optimised to deliver real value and results by helping companies to make connections quickly and thereafter increase business.
It will also help to form new partnerships and explore global markets, learn from international trade experts and world-class keynote speakers. We hope that this trade mission will kick-start your business relationship with World Trade Centre, Accra,” he said.
Centralia, he said, was ideal for businesses looking for opportunities in the manufacturing, transportation and logistics, agribusiness, information and communications technology, environmental industries, energy, resources and mining, construction and infrastructure as well as innovation and Research and Development (R&D).
The Managing Director of Strategic Energies Limited, Mr Johnny Blagogee told the Daily Graphic that he was expecting to meet other business leaders in the area of renewable energy and agriculture to be able to build partnerships that would help build the capacity of the business.
A senior Trade Commissioner of the High Commission of Canada to Ghana, Mr Peter Fiarmor, said Ghana was the 4th largest regional exporter to Ghana but there were still opportunities for businesses in Ghana to take advantage of to boost trade.
He, therefore, urged the participants to build partnerships at the forum with key businesses so that they can continue to explore opportunities beyond the forum.
Canada, he said, had expertise in various sectors and building partnerships would, therefore, help foster trade and boost a two- way trade between the two countries.
