Obviously mobile money platforms are leading the charge as it has managed to rope in quite a huge number of Ghana’s unbanked population.

Ultimately, mobile money has transformed the financial sector and caused banks to constantly innovate to keep up with the market.

Below are a few payment platforms leading Ghana into a cashless society while enabling easier and secured mode of payment for both individuals and businesses.

Zeepay

GT pay, according to information on its website, is an integrated and secure online gateway or platform that enables corporate clients such as hotels, airlines, churches, educational institutions, supermarkets among others to accept payments on their websites. It is an internet-based solution that enables online payments using local as well as international cards such as MasterCard. With this product, corporate customers can accept and receive payments for their services through their website from their own customers from anywhere in the world.

Interpay

Interpay facilities traditional transactions and e-commerce for payments of bills and invoices. It also allows merchants to receive payments from numerous customers spread across the country. It further allows merchants to easily authenticate and reconcile payments received.

BitPesa

BitPesa, another payment platform launched into Ghana earlier this month. After serving customers from East Africa to West Africa in 2015, BitPesa promises to enable customers make payments from Ghana Cedis in more than 10 countries, to Ghana in Cedis in more than 10 countries. Additionally, the platform enables Bitcoin trading in Cedis.

Payswitch

Payswitch is a Ghanaian payment system that enables integrated payment solution that facilitates the circulation of money and exchange of values between 2 individuals and also individuals and organisations. Payswitch is targeting commercial banks, non-banking financial institutions and telecommunication companies in West Africa.
