GLICO Group presents insurance package to Black Satellites

GLICO GROUP has presented an insurance package to the Black Satellites for their participation in the under 20 world cup tournament in New Zealand .

Presenting the package at a short ceremony held at the GFA, Nana Efua Rockson, the Head of Corporate Affairs & Marketing of GLICO GROUP, stated that “the most valuable change Ghanaians can make is to ensure that the national teams are well motivated with our support. And what better way to motivate them than to sponsor them and rally behind them with our prayers and cheers with the hope, that they will have a better chance of fulfilling their true potential and bring home the trophy”.

The insurance package comprises a Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 250,000.00) worth of insurance cover for the team and management personnel for the duration of the tournament and a cash donation of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 5,000.00) to assist the team prepare towards the tournament.

 

As further motivation for the Black Satellites, GLICO GROUP, as announced by Nana Efua Rockson, is pledging to pay the following: GHC 500.00 for every winning goal in the preliminary section; GHC 600.00 for every winning goal at the medal section; GHC 800.00 for each winning goal at the finals and last but not the least, GLICO will host a banquet in their honour and present yet another bonus to the team should they return victorious.

 

In his acceptance address, Mr. Emmanuel Gyimah, General Secretary, GFA thanked GLICO for their kind gesture and unwavering support shown to the Black Satellites and Black Stars over the years.

 

Similarly, Alhaji Sagudu, Vice Chairman of the Black Satellites Management Committee also commended GLICO for their support towards the promotion of football in the country. He promised that the Satellites will play their hearts out to ensure they bring the Cup home to Ghana.

 

GLICO has been instrumental in sponsoring the national teams with insurance and other packages to motivate them during tournaments. This is to foster a better sociable society through the power of sports and expand the impact of sports on people for national development.
