President John Dramani Mahama has announced a decision to hold a non-partisan National Forum on the Economy in June this year.The decision, he said on his Facebook wall, was arrived at after deliberations with the Economic Management Team stating, “We have concluded that our country will benefit from a National Forum on the Economy”.
The president further went on to say that his government was convinced that economic difficulties would be better tackled by gathering all stakeholders around the same table(political parties, civil society, private sector, labour and government) to brainstorm.
“One of my duties, as a President, is to aim for social peace and secure a national consensus on the critical issues,” Mahama added
