Guinness Ghana Adjudged Best Brewery In 2017

Guinness Ghana Breweries has emerged the overall winner of this year’s Ghana Breweries Awards (GBA).

The company took the most coveted product of the year, beating all competitors for that category and took home the Beer of the Year Award.

Manager of the Soft Drinks Category at Guinness Ghana, Roland Ofori expressed his excitement at the awards.

“It’s being a long time coming and one word to describe us will be consistency. We see this recognition as an appreciative one, recognizing our works for the consistency shown over the years and we promise to continue working hard to bring our consumers the best products,” he said.

The Guest of Honor for the awards ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, (GIPC), Mr. Yofi Grant, addressing the gathering assured the beverage operators that government rope them into the one district one factory policy as a means of paying more attention to the manufacturing subsector to create more jobs.

“I want to assure you that this government will pay particular attention to manufacturers. Ghana is well positioned to move away from an economy that is built on the export of raw materials and our resources into one that is value added and manufacturing and that is why the policy of the one district, one factory is very important. Because it will help in creating jobs and also in democratizing the economy” he stated.

Other big winners of the night were Coca Cola Company, which swept three awards on the night namely; Soft Drink of the Year Award, Corporate Social Responsibility of the Year as well as the Manufacturer of the Year Award.
