HFC Bank opens new branch at Adjiringanor

In its bid to bring banking to the doorsteps of Ghanaians, HFC Bank has opened a new branch at Adjiringanor, near East Legon.

The Adjiringanor branch, which brings to 42 the total branch network of HFC Bank across the country, is a modern branch designed to make the banking experience a pleasant, comfortable and stress-free one for customers.

In a short ceremony to open the new branch, Managing Director (MD) of the bank, Mr Robert Le Hunte said the opening of the branch forms part of HFC Bank’s new focus, which is to build modern branches at locations to cater for the needs of its customers.

“We believe banking should be made accessible, hence the need to bring banking to the doorstep of our existing and prospective customers,” Mr Le Hunte said.

He said HFC Bank has decentralised the origination of mortgages within the bank, making it available at all its 42 branches.

“From the beginning of this year, all of our customers can access mortgage facilities from any HFC Bank branch and be assured of prompt, excellent service,” Mr Le Hunte affirmed.

In his speech, the Special Guest of Honour for the opening ceremony, Mr Nigel Baptiste, President of Republic Financial Holdings Limited, Trinidad and Tobago, and MD of Republic Bank Limited (RBL), said the RBL Group’s ultimate goal is to keep HFC Bank at the forefront of the financial sector in the country and on the African continent.

“We endeavour to continue setting the standard of excellence in customer satisfaction, employee engagement, social responsibility and shareholder value while contributing to the building of successful societies,” Mr Baptiste noted.

He said the group’s investment focus is consistent with Ghana’s long-term growth strategy.

“I wish to assure the good people of Ghana that we remain committed to working with Ghana to unlock its economic opportunities. Like Ghanaians, we believe that the current challenges confronting the economy are not insurmountable.

The challenge of turning the fortunes of the economy round [sic] is a shared national responsibility and we are delighted that a lot of serious discussion is going on at different levels aimed at finding a collective solution to this.”

In a goodwill message from the regulator, Nesbit Barnor, Assistant Director at the Bank of Ghana, who represented the Governor, commended the board and management of HFC Bank for rolling out new branches.

“This is welcome news for the banking sector, particularly as efforts are made to bring banking services closer to the doorstep of customers. For HFC Bank in particular, this is evidence of your expressed commitment to long-term business and investment plans in the country,” Mr Barnor said.

He also lauded the bank for driving competition in the banking sector with an exciting campaign that offers attractive interest rates on savings and reduced banking charges, and urged it to pay a bit more attention to the millions of Ghanaians at the countryside who have no access to financial services.
