Know about William Tevie- NCA Boss

 

Mr. William Tevie, has been confirmed by President John Mahama as Director-General of the National Communication Authority to serve a four-year term.

This is what you should know about the new boss of NCA

Mr.William Mathew Tevie, 54, has 24 years of experience in progressive ICT management, strategic planning and operations.

He has been described as a “forward thinking” man in the field of ICT according to statement released from the NCA

He was the Director–General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA). It is reported that, under his leadership ,The government ICT infrastructure under the 3rd component of the eGhana project including fiber optic network, WiMAX wireless network and temporary Datacenter was commissioned which is still serving  many Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

Other key project commissioned under his managements is the Ghana Open Data initiative that places Ghana as the second to have an open Data Portal in Africa.

Mr. Tevie, also worked as the Deputy Director, Systems and Chief Technical Officer at Network Computer Systems and served as Executive Secretary of the IT Association of Ghana and a Board Member of the National Communications Authority from 2009 to 2013

He has chaired the board’s sub-committee on research in addition to being a member of the sub- committee on operations, finance and audit and project management.

He took over affairs at NCA, as the Acting Director-General in June 2015 after Mr Paarock VanPercy, ended his term of office

Tevie was recognized at the just ended GITTA Awards as an innovative leader in the Communications industry.

As the Director General, Mr. Tevie, under the guidance of the governing board, will be responsible for regulating the growing and developing communications industry in Ghana.
