London School Of Public Relations Launches In Ghana

The London School of Public Relations (LSPR) Ghana, has been formally inaugurated to provide corporate training on how to communicate, defend and develop brands using methods, effective solutions, as well as reputational management.

The LSPR Ghana, which is the first of its kind in Africa, is being operated and managed by King Wellington Consulting, a Ghanaian management consulting firm with an international positioning.
LSPR is a public relations training company, whose training courses are highly regarded both in the United Kingdom and globally, which is reflected in the quality and extent of their clients list.

Mr. King A. Wellington, Executive Director, King Wellington Consulting said LSPR specializes in reputation management, business development; adding that its courses were accredited, approved and recognized by the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) UK.

He noted that the London team of LSPR would be approving and supervising everything that LSPR Ghana does.

Mr. John Dalton, Founder and Director, LSPR Worldwide, who formally launched the LSPR Ghana, said there was the need for organisations to build reputational capabilities, in order to make themselves more resilient against risks and emerging issues.

He explained that the face of Public Relations (PR) is gradually changing and there is therefore the need for institutions that teaches communications and PR to adapt to the changing trends.

Madam Gertrude Koomson, Corporate Affairs Director, Volta River Authority, said the role of public relations officers have changed from the usual work of being a messenger, adding; PROs must now be seen as a strategic tool for management.

She noted that LSPR Ghana would go a long way to make PROs more professional, if it emulates the success it has in other countries.

Mr. Basheru Adams, a media professional expressed his disappointment at some PROs and the quality of press releases they issued and was hopeful that LSPR Ghana would help improve the work of public relations in the country.

The London School of Public Relations which started operations in London in 1999, have campuses in the UK, Ghana, Belarus, Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Jordan, Qatar, Malaysia, Poland, Slovenia, Romania among others.
