Meet Chinedu Echeruo: Global Tech Entrepreneur

Chinedu is the calm unassuming Nigerian born tech enterprenuer at the very top of tech innovation today.

He broke grounds in the tech industry when he founded two  internet-based companies; HopStop.com -a pioneering travel app that helped millions across the world to navigate major metropolitan areas- and Tripology.com (a lead-generation and travel referral business for the travel industry), for which he raised nearly $8 million from private investors.

Launched in 2005, HopStop.com grew 250% in just three years, In 2011, the company was named one of the top 100 fastest growing software companies by Inc. Magazine and was later acquired by Apple at a reported fee of $1 billion.

Tripology, his second company was also acquired at an undisclosed amount and is now owned by USA Today.

With a background in finance, Chinedu has spent several years in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Leveraged Finance groups of J.P Morgan Chase where he was involved in a broad range of M&A, financing and private equity transactions.

He was a Principal at Constant Capital Partners Ltd., a boutique investment bank and personal investment company, and a core team member at AM Investment Partners, volatility-driven convertible bond arbitrage hedge fund based in US.

Chinedu is a ‘Black Enterprise Small Business Awards Hall of Famer’ and was named one of the “10 Most Powerful People in Africa” by Forbes in 2014

He is a board member of Africa.com LLC, a leading Africa related Media Company,  a consultant to Fortune 500 companies and runs three startup companies; MindMeet, BoxCircles and Love and Magic company, seeking to build the tools and environment that empower individuals to create and manifest their ideas

He holds an M.B.A from the Harvard Business School and B.S in Finance and Accounting (Honors) from Syracuse University.
