Nestle appoints first Ghanaian and woman MD

Nestle Ghana has appointed Freda Duplan as its new Managing Director, making her the first Ghanaian and woman to hold that position in the history of the company in Ghana.

Her appointment took effect from the 1st of April, 2015.

She takes over from Moataz El Hout.

Freda Duplan joined Nestlé in 1992 as IT Manager, Nestlé Ghana Ltd.

Among other managerial positions, she held the roles of National Sales and Operations Manager for the Guinea Cluster in 1998; and Regional Customer Service & Distribution Manager, Central and West Africa Region (CWAR) in 2008.

In 2010, she became Head of Nestlé Business Services (NBS) Accra, a shared service centre for Nestlé entities in Central, West and Eastern Africa.

She later assumed the direction of NBS in Manila, Philippines in 2014.
