NPA to review petroleum prices: up or down?

The National Petroleum Authority is expected to review petroleum prices on the 16th of this month.

The Authority, which reviews prices every two weeks, has however stated it would not review the prices downwards even though there was a significant drop in the price of crude oil in the world market.

According to them, advantage will be taken of the price decrease to save some cash in order to pay the Bulk Oil Distribution Companies what it owed them.

Crude oil prices hit a four-year low after Saudi Arabia unexpectedly cut the price of oil sold to the US last week. Brent crude fell to near $82 a barrel as worries about global growth also spooked investors.
