PaySwitch To The Rescue With Lower Payment Solutions

Payment solutions company, PaySwitch, has disclosed that it is committed to improving payment systems in the country in line with the government’s cashless agenda.

PaySwitch says it is achieving this aim by supporting local providers with tailor made solutions to compete with others across the sub-region.

The company also explains that its operations are geared at reducing the cost of operation for operators within the payment ecosystem.

Among the numerous mechanisms to promote government’s digitization agenda is the introduction of the mobile money interoperability and electronic Point of Sale devices at major retail centres.

Commenting on the outfit’s role in attaining this agenda, the CEO of PaySwitch, Kojo Choi said they are hopeful the reduced costs will increase patronage.

“The Bank of Ghana has issued out guidelines that promote localization of most of the transactions; for instance, ATMs will now have to be processed by companies based in Ghana…We have been ready for the past two and a half years,” he said.

“Our operations cut down costs; about 45 percent for banks and other fintech companies operating in the country so it is good news for Ghana for our coming in,” he added.
He spoke ahead of the company’s BPC Digital Business Summit in Accra on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

The forum will among others engage stakeholders of the Financial Industry on our present and future innovative services and how these can revolutionize the entire ecosystem of the Ghanaian financial industry.

The conference is on the theme, “A new day; A new way”.
The company is also expected to officially launch its activities on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
