Petroleum prices likely to be reduced by 23%

At a press conference held by the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) on Wednesday, July 15 to launch a new pricing regime for petroleum products, it came up that petroleum is likely to go down by 23 per cent while Diesel would be reduced by 27 per cent just like Kerosene.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) could go down by 24 per cent.

The new prices are expected to take effect from Thursday, July 16 but will see the oil marketing companies (OMCs) carrying out further respective price permutations at the pumps.

The confirmation of the prices will come from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), which was present at Wednesday’s launch.

Other stakeholders present were IMANI-Ghana, the African Center for Energy Policy and the Ministry of Petroleum.
