Provident Insurance opens branch at Dzorwulu

Provident Insurance Company Limited (PICL), has opened a new branch at Dzorwulu in Accra, to provide prompt services to its customers and the public in the catchment area.

Mr Atom Ewusie Wilson, Acting Managing Director, PICL said the branch is expected to offer quality services to customers of the company.

He therefore charged the workers to uphold the core values of the company which include hard work, truthfulness to client, clean environment and strong work ethics.

He said opening the branch is the outcome of prudent decision taken by the Board of Directors of the Company with approval by the Regulator, the National Insurance Commission.

He added that the move also falls within the corporate objective and strategy of opening offices that can be viable to offer services close to the doorstep of clients.

Mr.Wilson noted that the Company’s stated capital is now GH¢ 5,400,000, which meets the industry stated capital requirement, with  total equity hitting  GH¢ 37,777,935 as at December 2015 while total assets reached GH¢ 55,080,340 as at December 2015.

“Indeed I can say that at almost 34 years of providing’s existence, our assets and overall investment base is quite formidable and therefore very safe to do business with us and as you know with Provident, man you are covered,” he said.

He mentioned areas like Accra Newtown, Kotobabi, Alajo, Achimota, Dome-Kwabenya, Abelenkpe Roman Ridge, Nima, Airport as well as DVLA offices in 37 and Achimota as areas the branch would specifically serve.

Mr Oliver Akubia, Chief Operating Officer (COO), PICL  stated that the new branch will serve the needs of the growing customer base of the company since clients have complained about how difficult it is to access the office in Kwame Nkrumah Circle due to traffic congestion.

He said the Company therefore thought it necessary to bring its product close to them to access especially to enable quick processing and payment of claim.

Mr Akubia said the Company pays claims promptly and also offer services of risk management advice apart from the services standardised for insurance companies.

“This is because in the event of a loss, it may take some time for a claim to be paid and during that time, one may lose even much. Therefore we give advice on how to manage your assets including proper housekeeping,” he said.

The COO noted that the Company’s future plan is to consider areas that have not been looked at by other insurance companies like travelling insurance for different categories of people including sports men and women.
