Prudential Bank opens another UCC branch

Prudential Bank Limited has inaugurated its University of Cape Coast branch in the central region with a call on the university community to take advantage of the banks products and services.

Addressing the gathering during the opening ceremony, the Deputy Managing Director, Finance, Administration and Credit Administration of the bank, Dr. J. okine-Afrane revealed that, management of the bank made plans to open new branch on UCC campus due to the growing need of customers of the banking the university community

“The bank has come to the realisation that its present branch location is not spacious enough to accommodate its increasing customers.  There are situations that the branch becomes so full that long queues are experienced to the discomfort of our customers.  Such situation occurs whereby the university students have to queue for long hours to pay either fees or make withdrawals,” he said.

“The new Cape Coast University Branch is opened to deepen the already established cordial business relationship between the bank and the University of Cape Coast and to serve the banking needs of the expanding university community,” Dr Okine-Afrane said.

He said the old office would serve as an agency to provide banking services to customers in the area.

“In view of the fact that the bank’s operations are fully networked, our customers can do any business from our agency,” Dr Okine-Afrane said, adding that plans were far advanced for the bank to put up an ultramodern office complex at the university.

He said within the seven years that the bank had been operating at the university, it had provided a lot of financial support to the university community.

He said the bank in collaboration with the Student’s Representative Council had financed a 310-room students’ hostel for the university to ease accommodation problem on campus.

The Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Professor George Kwaku Toku Oduro, speaking on behalf of the university management, applauded the bank for its support to the university over the years.

He said the opening of the new branch would  greatly benefit  the students and the university community as a whole.
