StarLife Assurance appoints new Chief Actuary and Executive Director

StarLife-Assurance-Co-Ltd-Jobs-in-GhanaMrs. Boatemaa Duffuor-Nyarko has been appointed Chief Actuary and Executive Director of StarLife Assurance Limited.

 

She is tasked to ensure due diligence in rating and pricing of life insurance products at the executive level and overseeing the actuarial, finance and Investment portfolio of the company.

 

Mrs. Duffuor-Nyarko holds a BSc (Hons) first class degree in Economics from University of Warwick (UK), a Postgraduate Diploma in Actuarial Science with distinction as well as a Master of Science (MSc) in Actuarial Management from Cass Business School, City University (London, UK). She is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the United Kingdom.

 

Boatemaa is an alumnus of the Ghana International School, where she obtained both her ordinary and advanced level certificates, majoring in mathematics, chemistry and biology.

 

Until her present appointment, she had worked with QED Actuaries and Consultants (Aon Hewitt) in South Africa, where she provided actuarial consulting services for not only South African clients but also those from Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Mauritius and Ghana.

 

She has had a wide exposure in her field, including specialisation in performing Valuations (Gross Premium and Net Premium), premium rating, embedded values, appraisal values, analysis of surplus and projected accounts. She, therefore, has the requisite experience in Actuarial Management.

 

Mrs. Duffuor-Nyarko has been working in the insurance industry for the last nine years in various departments including marketing, customer service, underwriting, accounts and actuarial departments.
