Unicorn Air commences private jet charter services

Unicorn Air has commenced its chartered jet air travel services in Ghana.

It follows the granting of an Air Operators Certificate (AOC) to it.

With the certification, Unicorn Air becomes the first airline to render private jet charter services in Ghana as well as ancillary services, including medical evacuation and sports charters, using an eight-seater HS-125 800XP aircraft.

Unicorn Air a subsidiary of UHI Holdings secured its Air Carrier License (ACL) from the Ghanaian Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) last September 2014.

Acting Director General of the GCAA Abudulai Alhassan presenting the AOC charged the airline to work hard to sustain its business since they are the first to come into the jet chartered services space.

Managing Director of Unicorn Air Philip Ayisa said the aircraft was ready for business and they will comply with all regulations.

“With the issuance of the AOC its means we can begin flights and in fact we have gotten some flights but we were waiting for the AOC and other things to be done right.

With this we are the first company to offer purely executive private aircraft services and we pledge to offer quality and secure services while remaining customer-focused at the same time.”

According to Philip Ayisa ‘because UNICORN AIR is a charter, it is much easier for clients, so you don’t have to wait for hours before you leave. You can come and in five minutes you are gone. You go through the VIP area and your luggage is screened just like any other passenger.

We have been certified to go worldwide, with the only limitations being insurance and if the country has a conflict with Ghana. We can go anywhere. We are prepared to go anywhere provided the client requests. We have sister- companies that can supply us with bigger aircraft upon request.”

The airline has been licensed to ply all local and international routes, however, presently; Unicorn Air has only one aircraft.

But Philip Ayisa has given the assurance that as business progresses, more aircrafts will be acquired.

He stressed that the vision of the company is to double its fleets within the next three years.

Unicorn Air assures that their services will be affordable explaining that affordability comes with convenience ‘and so if you want to have any business meeting anywhere and you can call us and in the next 20 minutes, an aircraft is ready for you’.
